My Services

As a therapist who practices integrative therapy, I seek to blend the best of different therapeutic approaches to create a comprehensive and effective treatment plan for each client. It starts with getting to know my client as a human and becoming familiar with their belief systems, perspectives and approach to life. I want to know what they care about and what motivates them each day. Then together, we can decide which therapeutic approaches might be the best fit and which they would like to try. In my practice this usually looks like a combination of relational therapy, somatic therapy, parts work (Internal Family Systems) and/or EMDR. The beauty of this approach is we can be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and needs. Life moves in different directions, and we need to be able to adjust.

Remember, you are unique and the path to healing is too!

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) was developed by Francine Shapiro and is an eight-phase therapeutic approach that utilizes bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues—to help process distressing memories both emotionally and physiologically. Many individuals experience quicker relief from troubling emotions and restrictive beliefs after undergoing EMDR therapy.

Somatic Therapies

Somatic therapy offers several benefits for individuals seeking holistic healing. It emphasizes the connection between the mind and body, helping to release stored tension and trauma. This approach can lead to improved emotional regulation, increased body awareness, and a greater sense of overall well-being. Additionally, somatic therapy can enhance personal growth and promote resilience in facing life's challenges.

Polyvagal & Neurobiology

Polyvagal Theory, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, explores the connection between the autonomic nervous system and emotional regulation. It highlights the vagus nerve's role in our responses to safety, mobilization, and immobilization, influencing social interactions and stress reactions This theory enhances our understanding of emotional and physical well-being, improving the ability to work with our nervous system.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy is a personalized, holistic approach that blends concepts and techniques from various therapeutic methods to meet the unique needs of each client. Instead of sticking to one specific model, integrative therapists utilize different psychological theories and adapt their treatments, creating a more flexible and inclusive experience.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic model that views the mind as a system of distinct "parts" or sub-personalities, each with its own perspectives, emotions, and roles. Created by Richard Schwartz, IFS encourages individuals to explore these parts, understand their functions, and foster communication among them. This approach aims to promote healing by addressing internal conflicts and enhancing self-compassion, leading to a more harmonious and balanced emotional state.

Nutrition for Mental Health

Scientific studies are enhancing our understanding of the mind-body connection and the importance of diet on mental health. I have a keen interest in this area, have completed several extensive trainings on the topic and am passionate about helping people improve their relationship with food and their body.
